AOZ3013PI 3 A Synchronous Buck Regulator in SOIC8 package with exposed pad.
The AOZ3013PI is an advanced buck converter. It switches at high frequency and because of this, only a small inductor and capacitor is required. It achieves high efficiencies. In combination with the exposed pad that allows using the PCB as a heatsink, it can deliver a relatively high amount of current of 3A in a rather tiny package. Because it can flow current directly from input to output (no switching), it can generate output voltages extremely close to the input voltage. As a bonus it is sold at low prices that are attractive to makers.
Because of its SO8 package, the AOZ3013PI is not breadboard friendly and not the easiest part to solder, but for experienced makers the AOZ3013PI is a powerful swiss army knife buck converter that that makes a lot of other buck converters look obsolete.
