DWARF 3

viel spass euer Ralle

You are all familiar with the problem of the shaky AQ axis, which ruins your shots—especially in windy conditions.

Here, I’d like to introduce my DIY solution...

To provide stability, I designed a bracket that supports the axis of rotation using two ball bearings at the top and a rotatable clamp mount at the bottom. The base plate comes in two versions to accommodate the most common quick-release systems (Arca-Swiss and Manfrotto).

To assemble it, you simply need an M4x20 knurled screw or wing screw, glue, two 15x10x4 ball bearings (or one 15x10x8 bearing) to press into the top of the bracket, and some servo tape to secure the mount to the telescope -- after careful adjustment --.

Have fun! Best, Ralle
