This was created because if you mount the temparture sensor to the wall "As Is" the ethernet cable would be crimped. So I created this to mount it away from the wall allowing you to easily pass through the cable without damage. First you mount the plate on the wall with the provided screws from the kit. You still have two screws left and you can use them to mount the bottom section to one of the four screw posts on the plate.
