Summary

The IARC GM3 Universal Mount System is a modular, removable mounting system designed for the CADDXFPV/Walksnail GM3 V2 head-tracking gimbal.

Instead of permanently installing an expensive camera, VTX, gimbal, and associated wiring in a single RC vehicle, this system allows one complete FPV head-tracking assembly to be moved between multiple vehicles. Install a vehicle-specific receiver plate on each model, then attach or remove the complete GM3 assembly as needed.

The system was designed for use across RC planes, cars, boats, drones, and other custom FPV projects. Only the vehicle-side mounting solution needs to change—the main GM3 assembly remains the same.

The system consists of two main sections:

Universal GM3 Assembly

This section holds the GM3 V2 gimbal, camera system, wiring, and power connection. It stays assembled when transferring the system between vehicles.

Vehicle-Side Mount

This section remains attached to the RC vehicle. Each vehicle can use a different adapter designed around its available mounting points, shape, and space constraints.

The universal assembly slides into or attaches to the vehicle-side mount, allowing the full head-tracking FPV system to be installed or removed without rebuilding the wiring or unbolting the gimbal.

This means you can create additional vehicle adapters while continuing to use the same GM3 assembly.

Compatibility with every vehicle is not guaranteed. A suitable vehicle-side mounting plate or adapter must be selected or designed for each application.

Required Equipment

The exact equipment needed will depend on your camera system and vehicle, but the build shown in our video uses:

CADDXFPV/Walksnail GM3 V2 gimbal

Walksnail Moonlight Kit

Compatible Walksnail goggles

XT30 connector

Suitable power wiring

Appropriate hardware for securing the GM3 and vehicle mount

Vehicle-specific mounting plate

Proper voltage source or regulator for your FPV equipment

Electronics, wiring, connectors, gimbal, camera, VTX, goggles, and mounting hardware are not included with these downloadable files.

We developed this system because we wanted to use the CADDXFPV GM3 V2 and Walksnail Moonlight Kit across several RC platforms without purchasing or permanently installing a complete FPV system in every model.

The initial design was rebuilt into Version 2 after testing the first assembly. The updated version improved the base, wiring arrangement, XT30 integration, serviceability, and overall ease of use.

The final concept creates one self-contained GM3 head-tracking assembly that can be moved between compatible vehicle mounts. This makes it easier and more affordable to experiment with head-tracking FPV on different types of RC vehicles.
