Description
I modified my Monoprice select mini pro that was gifted by my school and decided to share it with you all.
Files included: Bracket to line up the TR8x8 nut in the Z-carriage + brackets to move the Extruder outside of the frame.
- The Z rod carriage had a bent rod and the nut was taken off so I made a bracket because the removal of the original nut left me with an eccentric hole. The new bracket slides over and is fastened by bolting the X-axis stepper on top.
I had to cut the original carriage as pointed out by the red line on the image. The original plastic is surprisingly soft so I had no trouble using a saw blade designed for metal (shorter teeth).
- The Z-axis threaded rod was longer than expected: to be able to utilize as close to the 200mm Z-height as possible, and to be able to put the carriage on the rod physically, I moved the extruder on top of the frame. This meant I had to rebuild the full extruder assembly.
All parts on the images were printed on an Bambu lab A1 mini with original settings apart from temperature. The white parts are printed in PETG and the black parts are PLA.
