Description

This is the latest addition to my Xiaomi 17 Ultra accessories series (although I already have ideas for a tripod adapter and a few other things - which will come later :-) ). Since this set grew quite large, I’ve divided it into two parts: one featuring the updated phone case itself - now with a lens guard and a improved flip-stand, - and another featuring all the adjusted versions of the accessories I created previously (car vent clip, desk cradle, and bed stand), updated to fit the new lens cover so you don't have to remove it every time you use the phone with them.

Since both model sets are published right after each other, it should be easy to find your way between my models :-)

Here is a breakdown of useful details on the updated case - see the image carousel for the numbered references:

1 – A small extended lip at the top holds the phone securely in place inside the case. At the same time, it raises the screen 1 mm off the ground when placed face down (a habit I strangely tend to have) to reduce scratches and scuffs.

2 – This small notch ensures the top speaker isn't covered, while also providing a solid grip if/when you use my car clip to mount the phone.

3 – Of course, we need a small cutout so the 'Ultra' logo shows through ;-)

4 – The new lens cover. I've currently designed two variants, but more may come later.

5 – The locking mechanism for the lens cover: twist and click into place.

6 – A new and massively improved flip-stand. It needs to be snapped into place from the inside, possibly requiring a bit of force. This design requires your printer to be well-calibrated, but it opens up the option to use custom colors on the stand (along with the lens protector and other accent elements) for a more distinct look. The new design tolerates more wear and tear, and I've also built it so it can't bend too far back - something the old version could do.

7 – USB port access. The entire bottom side is now better protected against dust (see the next point in particular). Please remember to remove the small supports I've included from all ports and side-ports after print.

8 – These cutouts on both sides of the USB port are precisely sized so they don't cover the microphone or speaker. If you look closely at the image carousel, you'll see I made them specifically so you can insert dust mesh filters to prevent dust buildup (including a recess for the adhesive edge on the inside). You can find these filters cheaply on Temu or similar sites.

9 – The holes/slots on both sides at the bottom are clip mounts for the car vent setup. I'll be using these later for other add-ons as well (I already have a few ideas brewing :-) ).

10 – I borrowed a trick from the fashion industry by subtly curving the sides inward to trick the eye into seeing the phone as slightly slimmer than it is.

11 – This hex pattern helps make the design more appealing than a flat, empty back, but it serves a more important job: helping heat escape from the phone. Note that the hex hole right by the '11' arrow is positioned directly over the phone's processor, which gets the hottest. If you choose to insert colored hex inserts around the back, make sure not to cover this specific one.

12 – There are small indents near the top on both sides of the case to provide a better grip, whether you're lifting the phone off a table or holding it. Solving this was one of my main pet peeves.

13 – If desired, there are small holes at the top side of the phone and on the lens cover that you can use to attach a lanyard or wrist strap. Although I've made a small recess on the inside to help accommodate it, the cord must be thin enough so it doesn't prevent the phone from seating securely in the case.
