Description

Monotub Hygrometer Mount V2

The goal of V2 is simple: create a growing ecosystem of monotub accessories that aren't limited to a single manufacturer.

Unlike V1, this is an original design built from the ground up. While it still uses a friction fit mounting system, every component has been redesigned with compatibility and future expansion in mind.

Rather than releasing completely separate models for every monotub, V2 uses brand-specific mounting profiles. As support is added, you'll simply print the profile designed for your tub while using the same core design.

Looking Ahead

One of my goals with all of my monotub accessories is reducing brand limitations wherever possible. Whether it's hygrometer mounts, plugs, or future adapters, I'd like growers to have the flexibility to use the accessories they already own across multiple monotub brands. Even the far more strange ones.

Supporting multiple manufacturers takes time and access to physical tubs, so compatibility will continue to expand as additional designs are prototyped and tested.

Print Profile Information

This model is designed to be printed entirely in TPU with PLA used only as the support interface material. The PLA support interface creates an exceptionally smooth surface finish while allowing for a true friction fit without sacrificing flexibility.

Recommended Settings

0.4 mm Nozzle

TPU for the model

PLA for support material

Gyroid Sparse Infill

Auto Supports (Normal)

Support Settings

Top Z Distance: 0 mm

Interface Pattern: Rectilinear

Top Interface Spacing: 0 mm

Support/Object XY Distance: 0 mm

Independent Support Layer: Disabled

These settings are intentional. The model was designed around a zero gap PLA support interface to produce a smoother mating surface and improve the friction fit of the hygrometer mount.

Why TPU?

The flexibility of TPU allows the mount to create an airtight seal while remaining easy to install and remove. Combined with the friction fit design, no additional hardware or adhesives are required.

Notes

PLA support material is strongly recommended for the best surface finish.

Using TPU for both the model and supports will work, but removal may be more difficult and the surface finish may not be as smooth.

Individual monotub profiles may receive compatibility updates as support for additional brands is added.
