Click-On Phone Mount for Suzuki Vitara & Xiaomi

Following up on my previous slide-in mounting solution for the Suzuki Vitara, I wanted to create an alternative for those who prefer a mechanical click-on mechanism. This variant offers a more tactile and secure locking feel while keeping the phone perfectly positioned on the dashboard for complete unhindered view while driving.

To assemble this version, you will need a slightly modified variant of my Xiaomi SlimSkin cover, the dedicated click-on backplate, and the extended version of the Vitara vent clip. The parts are held together securely using standard screws. Printing the clip and backplate in a temperature-resistant material like PETG or ASA is highly recommended to withstand the heat inside a parked car during sunny days.

The click-on mechanism is engineered with just enough tolerance to snap into place smoothly while preventing any unwanted rattling while driving.

Important note: While the large, protuding ventclip might look ridicolus (and I have provided shorter ones you can use amongst my previous models), this model makes it MUCH easier to reach the phone while driving, making using it less of a distraction and a more safe option. Also, since the clip sits on the left side of the steering wheel, it is not as visible as it might look like from the images.
