Description

This is a custom 3D-printed mounting bracket designed for a dual Ascent GX10 setup. The mount securely positions two 80mm fans directly in front of the primary exhaust vents to actively extract hot air, significantly improving thermal performance and maintaining stable clock speeds under heavy workloads.

The bracket snaps/screws onto the front of the enclosures, bridging the two units into a neat, consolidated desktop or rack footprint.

🛠️ Hardware Needed

To complete this assembly, you will need:

2x 80mm Fans (e.g., Noctua NF-A8 PWM for silent operation or high-airflow equivalents)

Fan Screws (Standard self-tapping PC fan screws or M4 screws depending on your preference)

Fan Power Splitter / Controller (To power both fans from a single USB port or external 12V/5V power source)

🖨️ Printing Settings

Material: PETG or ABS/ASA is highly recommended over PLA. Because this mount sits directly against the hot exhaust vents of the GX10, standard PLA may soften or warp over time.

Infill: 20% to 30% (Grid or Gyroid for structural rigidity)

Wall Line Count / Perimeters: 3 or 4 walls for strong screw threads.

Supports: NO, can be oriented with the front against the printing bed.

🔧 Assembly & Installation

Mount the Fans: Screw the two 80mm fans into the square cutouts on the 3D-printed bracket. Ensure the airflow direction is pointing outward (extracting air away from the Ascent GX10 units).

Attach to the GX10: Align the bracket with the face/exhaust panels of your dual GX10 setup as shown in the project images.

Route Cables: Wire the fan cables down through your cable management system to your power source.
