Bluetooth Amplifier & Speaker Enclosure

Description
Bluetooth Amplifier & Speaker Enclosure
Summary
This project is a complete 3D printable enclosure for a DIY Bluetooth amplifier and speaker system. It was designed to provide a clean appearance, easy assembly, and enough internal space for custom audio electronics.
The enclosure consists of two main parts:
- A cylindrical speaker enclosure
- A separate amplifier case
The design is suitable for portable Bluetooth speaker projects and can be easily modified to fit similar amplifier boards.
Hardware Specifications
Speaker Enclosure
- Speaker chamber: horizontal cylinder
- Base dimensions: 60 × 60 mm
- Length: 95 mm
Please ensure your speaker driver matches these dimensions before printing.
Amplifier Case
Maximum supported PCB size:
- 150 × 160 × 30 mm
The enclosure was designed for a Bluetooth amplifier board featuring:
- USB Type-C charging port
- Two RCA (female) audio output connectors
- Bluetooth connectivity (CSR8670 chipset)
For this project, I used a Skullcandy Barricade XL Bluetooth CSR8670 amplifier board, but the enclosure can also be adapted for other Bluetooth amplifier modules with similar dimensions.
External Ports
The enclosure includes openings for:
- USB Type-C charging port
- Two RCA (female) audio output connectors
- Power button and other controls (depending on your amplifier board)
Required Hardware
- 24 × M2.5 screws, 8–12 mm
- Flexible glue (recommended for easier maintenance and repairs)
Printing Recommendations
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: 20–30%
- Material: PLA or PETG
- Supports: only where required
- Wall perimeters: 3–4 walls recommended for better durability
Assembly
1. Print all enclosure parts.
2. Install the speaker driver into the cylindrical enclosure.
3. Mount the Bluetooth amplifier PCB inside the amplifier case.
4. Align the USB Type-C (for charger, ...) connector and RCA output connectors with their corresponding openings.
5. Route the speaker wires through the designed cable channels.
6. Secure all printed parts using the M2.5 screws.
7. Apply glue if a permanent assembly is desired.
Features
- Compact portable design
- Dedicated Bluetooth amplifier enclosure
- USB Type-C charging access
- Dual RCA audio outputs
- Easy assembly with screws
- Suitable for DIY audio projects
Notes
- This enclosure was specifically designed around the Skullcandy Barricade XL Bluetooth CSR8670 board.
- Minor modifications may be required for different amplifier modules or speaker drivers.
- Please verify your component dimensions before printing.
Printing Tips
speaker_front_grille.stl
For the best appearance and acoustic transparency:
1. Import speaker_front_grille.stl into your slicer.
2. Split the model into two separate parts.
3. For the inner grille section:
- Set Top Layers to 0
- Set Bottom Layers to 0
- Use Honeycomb (Hexagon) Infill
4. Print the outer frame using your normal print settings.
This method creates an attractive honeycomb grille while maintaining excellent airflow for the speaker.
Assembly Tolerance
Depending on your printer's dimensional accuracy and material shrinkage, you may need to scale all parts to 100.3% to achieve a better fit between mating components.
Printing tolerances vary between printers and materials, so slight adjustments may be necessary.
