Description

I made this Scottoiler dispenser bracket that fits on the chain guard because the swing arm mounting position interfered with the use of my paddock stand.

It is necessary to drill through the chain guard to install this part.

The 3D printed bracket serves as a drilling template during assembly.

Materials needed:

  • 2x M4x10 mm screws
  • 2x M4 washers
  • Ø3,3 mm drill bit
  • Ø4 mm drill bit
  • M4 tap

Assembly steps for a perfect fit:

1 - Clean the holes in the 3D printed bracket with the Ø3,3 mm drill bit.

2 - Hold the 3D printed bracket onto the chain guard (finger pressure is sufficient), using the rear rib to position it. Drill the hole on the right-hand with the Ø3,3mm drill bit.

3 - Stop holding the bracket. Enlarge the right-hand hole in the 3D printed bracket using the 4 mm drill bit.

4 - Tap the chain guard with the M4 tap.

5 - Attach the 3D printed bracket to the chain guard using an M4 screw. Drill the left-hand hole using the Ø3,3 mm drill bit.

6 - Remove the 3D printed bracket from the chain guard. Drill the left-hand hole in the 3D printed bracket using a 4 mm drill bit.

7 - Tap the chain guard with the M4 tap.

8 - Mount the Scottoiler dispenser on the 3D printed bracket, not too thigh to allow adjustments.

9 - Attach the 3D printed bracket to the chain guard using screws and washers. Tighten by hand.

10 - Adjust the Scottoiler dispenser's position.

Part designed with Solidworks 2022, file available.

I made the part out of ASA. PETG would be good too I guess. But PLA may get too soft on warm summer days.
