Replacement Rewind Motor Gear for Ultimaker Material Station

This is a replacement gear for the rewind motor of the Ultimaker Material Station. The gear is mounted directly on the motor shaft and drives the roller system responsible for rewinding filament onto the spool during loading and unloading operations.

The original gear in my unit failed after developing a crack in the hub area, specifically at the interface where the motor shaft has a flattened (D-shaped) section. This led to slippage and unreliable operation of the rewind mechanism that drives the spool roller system.

This gear is press-fit onto a D-shaped motor shaft. Ensure correct alignment of the flat section of the shaft before pressing the gear on.

Two versions of the shaft bore are included:

4.0 mm bore (nominal design value): based on the estimated motor shaft diameter (~4.0 mm)

4.4 mm bore (tested press-fit version): this version was iteratively tuned using Tough PLA and provides a very tight press-fit on my machine.

Due to printer tolerances, material shrinkage, and extrusion differences, the optimal fit may vary. Choose the version that best matches your printer and material behavior.
