It's actually questionable that so many people take the risk of their LiPo batteries being subjected to impacts from crashes. They're basically playing with the fire. Damaged LiPo batteries can catch fire later while charging or even spontaneously in storage. They endanger their own lives and the lives of others in the house building. The property is also at risk and therefore also financial risk as a result.

Perhaps because there were no solutions in place to protect them. I even hope so, because I would like to have this protection with other frame designs as well....

-- SPECS --

LIPO:

For a LiPo battery with max dimensions 64 mm in length 37 mm in height.

In the current state this is for example LiPo 4S 850/750/650mAh (850mAh is at 58-62x31x30 mm).

Lipo needs balance cable and pigtail XT30/60 on one side (There are Lipos where with cables on 2 sides. If you order the "side plate cable" two times maybe it is possible also to use LiPos with cables on both sides...

STANDOFFS FOR 3 BOW CONFIG:

For M2 Standoffs D4 (or D3,5)

Middle part: 10,5 mm (or smaller) in length.

Outer part: 2,5 mm (or larger) in length,

STANDOFFS FOR 2 BOW CONFIG:

For M2 Standoffs D4 (or D3,5)

Middle part: 24 mm (or smaller) in length.

Outer part: 2,5 mm (or larger) in length,

SCREWS:

If you use 3 protector bows instead of only 2 you need four large 25 mm M2 screws.

-- CNC SERVICE --

You can give the CNC service the STEP files; it contains all the information, including details about the plate thickness and chamfers.

CARBON FIBER PLATE ROTATION:

Use the file for the bottom plate that is described as turned45onXY so that the carbon fiber rectangle pattern runs parallel to the arms. This ensures that the X arms of the frame is exactly on the origin lines (instead in 45° angle), just as the CNC manufacturer would likely process it...

FILLETS:

The fillets are always chosen to be as large as possible (better for durability) and never have a radius below 1.00 mm (milling heads have a minimum limit...).

CHAMFERS:

The chamfers are important to prevent the electric cable, the LiPo strap or your skin from being cut. The CNC service typically creates the double sided chamfer using a special drill head (buck side chamfering) that first makes the chamfer on top then on the bottom, or they use a high accuracy plate turning process.

It is a prototype in open beta.

This version is the first version i will order at a CNC service. Use at your own risk ! It is in version 0.1 and not 0.5 or 1.0 ! I guess it should work. However, it has not been tested yet. Big and/or small errors are possible. The design is still in the prototype phase. I have not ordered and tested the part through a CNC service yet. Therefore, the part may still be revised and then appear as V0.5 on a new page. Maybe tests will be successful and this will be the final version of the Mirro35 drone frame.
