SV08 Extruder Gear Replacement Tool with Orbiter 2.5
Description
Need to replace your extruder gear? Heard of the horrors of gear? This tool is for you. Make sure you remove the set screws first. Also, I placed my gear and the Orbiter Gear in the freezer while I made and printed these tools.
What you need.
1. A working printer to print this.
2. A clamp.
3. A hammer.
4. Orbiter 2.5 upgrade gear.
5. SV08
Good to haves
A freezer.
A scraper.
How to use.
Orbiter 2.5 Gear Removal
Take the two sides of the Orbiter removal tool. Place the fat part of the gear above the hole. The holder is designed to hold it in place so that you can use a hammer to hammer it off. You can either use the pusher or the pusher box. Note: I haven't tested the box version, but it's what I wish I had made prior, lol. You may need to modify the dimensions a little.
SV08 Gear Removal
Take the SV08 tool and slide the triangular part (Planitary Gear Holder) and bearing into the middle section with the shaft facing up and going through the hole. The thin part is designed to fit between the triangle and the bearing. Place the other half in the same way. Clamp together to keep the halves together. Hammer the shaft with the pusher tool.
Note: If you don't have enough room, you may need to hammer in a scraper to create the extra space.
2.5 Gear Installation onto SV08.
Literally, slide it on and use the set screw. You don't even need to hammer it in. Make sure the fat side of the gear is on the same side as the bearing.
