Description

Some time ago I bought a used Canon 1300D Camera, it did not have a battery, but came with a battery adaptor to AC powersupply. The batteries for this camera is quite expensive here...This is Version 2 of a battery box designed in TinkerCAD. It will obviously work with other cameras too...You would need 2 18650 batteries connected in series in holders (2 of these: https://www.communica.co.za/products/cmu-1xlc18650-batt-holder-w-wire?variant=51888597008684. or 1 of these: https://www.communica.co.za/products/hkd-lc18650x2-batt-holder), since 18650 batteries have become so cheap, I have many of them, they work great in the camera and have much more capacity than the LP-E10 battery the camera originally uses. I printed it in grey PET-G, the latch is a bit loose, but it serves its purpose, print which ever way you like, but I found that most orientations require support and found that lying on it's side, the box prints best.(It's just a bugger to get the supports out of the box afterwards). I am sure that PLA would also work OK... You also need a suitable screw to fit the tripod mount which secures the box to the camera (I used a flatheaded brass crew, using a flatbladed screwdriver on it's side to tighten the last bit...be creative...or just remix the model with another hole in the bottom, go wild...
