ASUS Monitor Slot MagSafe / Qi Charger Mount v1.2 (VG27WQ1B Compatible)

A custom under-monitor mounting bracket designed around the ASUS VG27WQ1B rear accessory slot geometry.

This mount securely holds a MagSafe/Qi charging puck while repurposing the otherwise unused lower monitor mounting slot commonly left exposed when using VESA monitor arms instead of the factory stand.

The result is a clean and integrated under-monitor phone charging solution designed specifically for monitor arm and battlestation setups.

The design includes tolerance and retention adjustments based on real-world ASUS monitor manufacturing variance and physical prototype testing.

The puck recess was intentionally tuned for a secure snap-fit on a well-calibrated FDM printer.

Other similarly sized MagSafe/Qi charging pucks may also fit depending on dimensional tolerances and printer calibration.

Material Notes

Tested successfully in PLA on a well-calibrated printer with excellent structural rigidity during normal use.

PETG is still recommended for users wanting improved long-term durability and heat resistance, though PLA should also work well for many setups depending on environment and monitor temperatures.

Printing Notes

* Print as a single piece

* Print with the arm level to the bed and the model facing downward (orientation image included)

* Lower-density supports work well, such as 7–10%

* The included Cura orientation screenshot shows the print orientation used for the cleanest visible rear surface finish

* No adhesives or additional hardware required

Design Notes

This design was created specifically for VESA-mounted monitor setups where the factory ASUS lower mounting slot becomes unused.

The mount repurposes that space into a clean under-monitor MagSafe/Qi charging location without requiring permanent modifications.

Physical prototype testing and fitment adjustments were performed on real hardware to accommodate manufacturing variance present in the ASUS mounting geometry.

The mounting depth and arm positioning were intentionally designed to accommodate larger modern phones, including devices in the size range of an S24 Ultra with a case installed, while maintaining clean under-monitor clearance in a horizontal orientation.

The horizontal phone orientation also helps reduce unnecessary arm length and leverage forces, improving overall structural rigidity and long-term durability.

Future Versions May Include

The long-term goal is to create a more universal accessory ecosystem where the mounting interface can be adapted or remixed independently for additional monitor and mounting systems while retaining compatibility with the core accessory designs.

A future modular SCAD or similar parametric workflow is also planned to allow configurable snap-fit support for different charging puck diameters and depths while maintaining the same retention-focused design approach.
