Description

Summary:

A highly customizable, modular, and extremely durable wall-mounted holder for spice jars.

Unlike monolithic models where the C-clamps snap off due to weak Z-axis layer adhesion, this model is designed to be printed in parts. The backplate, clamps, and shelves are all printed flat on the build plate. This ensures maximum strength and flexibility for the C-clamps precisely where it's needed most (along the X/Y layers).

By default, the model is configured for standard 36mm spice jars with a 5-cell layout, but you can adjust everything using the OpenSCAD Customizer:

Jar diameter and spacing

Number of cells (auto-calculates backplate width and mounting holes)

Clamp flexibility, height, and rounding radius

Shelf thickness

Clearances/Tolerances for joint assembly

Print Settings:

Material: PETG is highly recommended. It provides the perfect flexibility and impact resistance required for the snap-in C-clamps. PLA can be used, but it may become brittle and crack over time.

Resolution: 0.2mm layer height works great.

Infill: 15-20% Gyroid or Grid.

Supports: No supports required! The mortise holes on the backplate feature a very small 20mm bridge that any modern printer can handle with ease.

Orientation: Use the "Print Layout" mode in Customizer. All parts will be laid out completely flat on the virtual bed.

Post-Printing & Assembly:

The parts use a simple slot-and-tab (mortise and tenon) joint.

Test fit the parts. If they are too tight, you can increase the tolerance value in the Customizer and reprint.

Apply a small drop of CA Glue (Superglue gel works best to fill the 0.2mm tolerance gap). Alternatively, if you set the tolerance to zero for a tight fit, you can chemically weld the PETG using Dichloromethane (Methylene Chloride).

Insert the shelves and clamps into the backplate and let it dry.

Mount to the wall using standard countersunk screws. The script automatically adjusts the number of screw holes based on how many cells you generate (2 holes for short racks, 3 holes for longer ones).
