Description

This is an L-Track MomCozy Fan Mount I've created for my Thor 17D camper van to keep occupants cool while sleeping. I wanted a simple fan that could be easily adjustable to all angles/directions, portable, rechargeable, quiet, not too large and easy to remove when not in use. Many RVs like mine are equipped with L-Tracks that hold easily removable fabric storage bags over the bed in the van, so this is the perfect place to mount a cooling fan.

I bought this small fan on amazon (Momcozy 8000mAh Portable Stroller Fan | 27H Ultra-long Battery Life | Detachable 4 Speed 360°Rotate | 2 Modes LED Night Light, USB Rechargeable Handheld Cooling Fan for Travel, Car Seat, Bedroom) -> https://a.co/d/0hUzfm6q

It comes with octopus style, bendy legs which I didn't want. However, there is a single phillips screw that holds the legs onto the quick disconnect base. Simply unscrew the small phillips screw and discard the legs and the black-colored base. Save all other hardware. Print this mounting base, then using the same phillips screw and a small washer (believe I used a #8 washer) connect the grey quick disconnect fan base to the L Track mount model. There is a "bumpy looking gear" behind the base with the flexi-legs. This is easily press fit into the circle hole in the top of the model. The printable model itself has little "bobbly bits" on the inner part of the recessed circle. This allows the fan to rotate positions in the same fashion as with the "octopus legs" base. To connect the fan base mount to the L-Track, I just used the same nuts that came with the fabric storage bags, but I believe these nuts (link below) should work too.

8 Pcs L-Track Double Lug Threaded Stud Nut Fitting Tie Down| Used with L Track Rail for Truck Bed,Trailer Cargo Control,Pickup,RV,ATV,Bearing 6000 LBS Heavy Duty Steel -> https://a.co/d/0jgGi9y6

I do want to give huge credit to shanelord on MakerWorld, as I basically took his model (linked here) for a Starlink L track mount and remixed it for my fan base needs -> https://makerworld.com/en/models/890957-starlink-l-track-mount#profileId-847453

I printed my fan mount with 3 wall loops, 15% infill and 0.2mm layer height to make it sturdy but also light weight....but you can adjust as you need.
