Description

This motor mount is for a 1408 drone racing motor. Flash Hobby Arthur 1408 Motor - 2800Kv 16g works well. This motor is more powerful than the stock, my plane has good climb, loops and can fly knife edge. The mount has 2 degrees of down thrust, adjust with tape if needed. Best props are APC 5.25x4.75E and APC 5.1x4.5E. Both have 8mm bore, use with the 8mm APC tmount prop adapter, stl file is attached. There's a link below for other size bores. I'm using Tattu 2s 650mah, aftermarket Buzzard Hobbies 12A speed control, orange 4 ch receiver, EMAX ES9251ii tail servos, Emax ES9051 for aileron and XK A310 Biplane Servo Tray (link below).

You will also need some 1.4mm x ~8mm plastic/wood screws to attach the rubber bands, I bought a large assortment of small screws on Amazon for $13, description below. These screws are at an odd angle so they miss the motor shaft. Stick a pin in the hole to determine the path. Loom Bracelet rubber bands last a long time. Screws for rubber bands from Amazon: Screws: 1440 Pcs Mini Screws - Self Tapping Phillip Pan Head Micro Electronic Screws, M1-M2.3 Silver, 24 Size Assortment

The 8mm adapter will fit most APC props without the need for adapter rings. Short (~3.5mm long) 2mm diameter prop saver mounting screws are needed because the screws interfere slightly with the motor shaft. Longer screws will bind too much. You can cut a longer screw to length with bolt cutters but make sure you put a nut on the screw first. Removing the nut will restore the messed up threads at the cut.
