Description

This is Mk4 of my original Dust Boot I created about 7 years ago. Rather than bristles, It uses a piece of bike inner that is held in place in the grove around the round part of the Dust Shoe Bottom plate. The original had screws to lock the adjustable part in place, but I found that by using a threaded rod, the only point that had to be fastened was around the pipe on the "support mount" part and even that does not need to be tightened if one does not want to. I do not. The three points of contact make a good friction mount.

There are models for 5/16 and 1/4 threaded rods. The pieces have these threads modeled in them. I had version Mk1 where I modeled it for 5/16 rod because i already had one. If I were to build it from scratch, I would buy a 12 inch piece of 1/4 - 20 rod, cut it in half, and use that.

I printed all parts at 0.3mm layer height. The pipe is PETG the rest is PLA because supports are easier to remove. I have uploaded instructions with picture as a pdf.

*Update to the acrylic plate (Mk2) to allow the boot to rise up higher for shorter end mills.
