Last summer I purchased a portable air conditioner from the Chinese company BALLU, model BPAC-07. You probably already know that portable air conditioners come with a hose for venting hot air outside. To effectively cool a room, you also need to effectively remove heat.

Air discharge hose mount for BALLU BPAC-07 air conditioner
The idea was to install this hose on a plastic (sandwich panel) fixed window of a balcony door (made specifically for this purpose) during the summer and replace it with the original one in the fall. The problem was that the original air vent hose attachment could not be securely fastened to the fixed window due to a poorly designed mounting element structure. I could easily detach the attachment by hand or it could fall out if I opened the balcony door. To solve this problem, I took precise measurements of the hose attachment and designed my own mounting system in AutoCAD. The mounting system consists of several parts:
Spacer, thickness 2mm, clear acrylic glass - 1pc.
Lock Clamp, thickness 1mm, steel - 2pcs.
Air Grille, thickness 3mm, white acrylic glass – 1pc.
Furniture connecting bolts (32-42mm) – 8pcs.
These parts were made using a laser cutting machine. After you make the parts, you need to cut an oval hole with a jigsaw in the plastic fixed window, according to the smallest outer oval contour of the hose attachment. Then place the spacer on the oval hole, mark the holes for drilling, and drill them with an 8mm drill bit.
Next, screw the air vent hose into the attachment, install the attachment with the spacer into the oval hole, clamp the attachment with the mounting plates, and fasten them together with the external grille (from the street side) using the connecting bolts.
Now your air vent hose attachment is securely fastened!
This mounting system is suitable for everyone who lives in a rental apartment and, without making radical changes to the house structure, would like to have cool air in hot weather.
